Hey Reader! David Kessler here. Congratulations to Leonie Grundler and the team at Lioness games who launched their new game Biome on Kickstarter, and it funded in just nine minutes! Biome combines strategic card placements and engine building in a nature themed tableau builder. You’ll raise baby animals, feed and protect them, achieve biodiversity, and activate unique flora and fauna abilities to create the best Biome and win the game! Biome comes with real straw nests. And yes, you get to put baby rabbit and chick tokens in your nests each spring. Migration, predators, plants, baby animals..what more could you want? This is Lonnie’s first board game. Playtests at Protospiel Online were integral in supporting the development of the solo mode. Lonnie says that the support and encouragement from the PO community was huge. One of the goals for Biome was educating people on the importance of biodiversity and spreading love for nature. In exciting news, Lonnie is delighted to share that she is partnering with the Wildlife Conservation Network. To support efforts in protecting vulnerable species, 5% of Biome profits will be donated to the WCN! The Kickstarter for Biome is still live. You’ve got a chance to back the game until March 21st, when the campaign ends.
