Hey Reader! David Kessler here. IBGDC's First Print and Play Kickstarter Campaign Sailing ThroughThe India Board Game Designers Collective (IBGDC) is a group of designers, artists and game developers from India who are working in a studio model to design games based on Indian themes. The first campaign on Kickstarter was launched on July 22, and consists of three print and play games: Sinauli Unearthed by Neha Mittal, Tadoba by Amit Ghadge, and Muziris by Deepak Muraleedharan. Each designer chose a theme that is close to their heart and the place they call home. The project was funded within 90 minutes. Now, they are aiming to unlock a few stretch goals. IBGDC was a sponsor of one of the PO events last year. Two of the games, Sinauli and Tadoba, were playtested at Protospiel Online. Each game was created from a deeply personal place. In releasing games about these three regions, the IBGDC aims to share rich history and cultural significance with players across the word. Sinauli was the cradle of India's Bronze Age. Excavate the historic site by guiding your workers to find artifacts before your fellow professors. Muziris was the gateway of the ancient spice trade. Navigate through markets and trade with foreign ships to write your name as the best trader of the city. Tadoba is India's oldest tiger reserve. Explore the jungles while moving through mountains, rivers and grasslands to capture the sights of the critters.
