Hey Reader!

David Kessler here.

Welcome to Susberg is Live!

Creator's Generative AI Disclosure

In what way was generative AI used in the final product's creation process?
Our foe and item illustrations began as AI-assisted concept sketches. From there, we did extensive manual editing; adjusting colors, borders, shapes, and details to match the game's flat, outlined style. In every case, AI was just a tool in our creative process. The final look and feel of Susberg was directed and refined with care by our human hands.

Does the publisher have the consent of the owners of the original works included in the training dataset?
We used OpenAI’s tools to create original outputs rather than copy existing works. We never referenced specific artists or copyrighted material in our prompts. All images were further customized and revised by us to ensure they are original, cohesive, and respectful of other creators.

Congratulations to Rick Wiltsie who is bringing Welcome to Susberg to life! The game is nearly funded on Kickstarter.

Welcome to Susberg has been tested and refined over several Protospiel events. Without the help of this group, it wouldn't have been possible. This game is built around the idea of friends and the bond between them. That's why it is so appropriate that the Protospiel community was a part of making this strange little game.

Welcome to Susberg is a cooperative deckbuilding game in which players become a group of childhood friends protecting their hometown from strange and suspicious monsters like the sinister Faulty Toy or the reality-warping Multiversal Cube. Each player has unique cards and a distinctive play style, as well as a personal shop. Battle foes to save your town!

Reviewers are saying all sorts of great things about Welcome to Susberg! Paula Deming, from Things Get Dicey, enjoyed the unique feel of each character. And Ruel Gaviola, from Our Family Plays Games, loved the asymmetric decks and individual shops.

Nov 11 is the last day of the campaign, so don't wait too long to check it out.
