The campaign runs 'til December 12th with delivery before the end of the year. Maybe the perfect gift for pie lovers in your life?

\n📣Announcements Announcements Annooouuuncements!
\nHave you heard about the #ShopSmall push from the US Small Business Association?
\nSince 2010, the day after Black Friday has been coined Small Business Saturday, driving sales for businesses without piles of corporate money to run giant ad campaigns for the holidays.
\nHere at PO, we're thankful to be a small business that gets to support a community of talented game designers making experiences to bring joy, engagement, connection, and, on occasion, thought provoking moments to stop players in their tracks.
\nWe'll have badges and sponsorships for our January 2025 convention session on sale soon. In the meantime, if you're finding value in the community and content Protospiel Online provides, we'd love your support reaching our Ko-fi funding goal for Upgraded Web Hosting & Account Limits by the end of 2024.
\nI'm in to help PO reach the Ko-fi goal! |
\nIf you'll be at PAXU, we recommend hitting up the Indie Games Night Market (Saturday night only), the PAX Rising area in the main expo hall, and, of course, the UnPub room to find people from the Protospiel community.
\nA group of designers from the Building the Game Discord, which has a lot of member overlap with Protospiel Online, will be taking playtesting shifts at a shared BTG table in the UnPub room throughout the weekend.
\n
\nGlobal Game Jam (GGJ), where people come together for a short time to create games around a theme announced at the start of the jam, is coming up January 20-26, 2025.
\nRegistration to host a jam site is open now, and jammer registration opens next week. Last year, 40,000 people made over 9000 games at ~900 sites all over the world, even one in Antarctica!
\nGGJ is very video game focused, but analog games are also supported through sharing of print and play files. Sabrina Culyba, owner of Ludoliminal Games, designer and publisher of Diatoms, is the current board president for GGJ and is encouraging more analog designers to join the fray this year.

Hey Reader! AnnaMaria Phelps here. Longtime Protospiel Online member and active community cheerleader Derya Cebi launched Fly for Pie this week on Kickstarter! Grandma needs pie ingredients, and it's up to you, your hang glider, and your feathered friends to help deliver! This adorable little pickup and deliver also has a push your luck twist to keep gamers engaged. Perfect as a filler or family game, Fly for Pie is available as a print-and-play with two options: a smaller, easier-to-print version and an upgraded version with an additional map, player boards, and more tokens. The choice is a nice touch, it allows consumers to either get the base game to try, or to upgrade if they really love the gameplay and theme.
Fly for Pie made its first appearance at Protospiel Online in August 2023 under the early title "Grandma's Pie" and came back for several sessions with new iterations. It was fun to see the game evolve over the past year and follow along with the search for the perfect artist on social media. Derya would like to thank everyone who helped out with playtesting, feedback, and general encouragement saying "Without Protospiel Online, the game wouldn’t have become the solid experience it is today."
