Hey Reader!
David Kessler here.
Coming in hot, from one of our illustrious Protospiel Online moderators, Joe Slack, is a new game that he and his team just launched on Kickstarter.
Mayan Curse is a 1-6 player adventure game where you slide stone slabs and match up your sacred stones (with Mayan symbols) to make your path to the temple, collecting as much knowledge as you can along the way. But not only do you have to contend with other explorers for that crucial knowledge, you may also accidentally trigger a trap that will send boulders tumbling toward the entrance. Once all the boulders get there, the entrance is sealed and there's no way out...
You'll have to judge when to turn back and when it's still safe to continue on, amassing more knowledge. Maybe you can even reach the top of the temple to take a picture of the ancient lost city. But get too greedy and you could be trapped forever!
Joe Slack has attended every single Protospiel Online since the inception and has been a moderator since the second event. He's playtested so many games with other amazing designers and made some lifelong friendships. He's very excited to share this game with those he's met and have gotten to know him for his puzzle-y games.
Joe is also one of the organizers of Protospiel North in Toronto and playtested Mayan Curse multiple times at that event.

Neftaly Hernandez is building a new app for playing and building tabletop games, with the 3D rendering of TTS and Tabletop Playground, but browser-based and completely free to all table guests. He would really like to hear your experiences with board games so he can build a better platform. He's asking folks to please fill out a survey--it should only take about 5-10 minutes--and you will be entered into a prize draw for 4x $40 USD Amazon vouchers and 4x copies of Tabletop Playground. Take the survey here. The promotion is valid until November 14th--so don't wait! I know Neftaly would appreciate the help!

Hey Reader! Heather Newton here. We've had lots of exciting news about games from our community lately. This weeks feature is one I've been looking forward to for awhile, so let's get to it. Tomten Now on Kickstarter! Way back in January of 2022 Tomten: The Tactical Game of Christmas Gnomes made the rounds at Protospiel Online. It was one of my personal favorites of those I got to playtest that weekend, and I've been eagerly awaiting my next chance to play. That time is nearly at hand!...
